Fish processing facility in Toronto is looking for an individual with a background in Food Safety and Quality Assurance.  The successful candidate will ensure that daily production maintains compliance with HACCP and all pre-requisite.  The ideal candidate has a solid knowledge-base in Food Science principles, is knowledgeable of modern food processing facilities, and has an aptitude for self-directed learning.

Responsibilities: 
·         Assist HACCP coordinator in resolving non-conformities
·         Assist HACCP coordinator in preparing for internal/external audits
·         Assist HACCP coordinator in maintaining and enhancing the traceability program
·         Conduct daily pre-operational inspection
·         Oversee adherence to GMPs and HACCP program
·         Identify, document, and respond to deviations
·         Ensure that processing/HACCP records are properly completed, accurate, and up to date
·         Maintain company’s Allergen Control Program
·         Conduct and document weekly brittle plastic/glass reports
·         Provide weekly non-conformity reports to the HACCP supervisor
·         Continuously evaluate the safety and quality programs to identify areas for improvement
Investigate and resolve root cause of customer and consumer complaints

Qualifications: 
·         Food Science Graduate (Bachelor’s Degree), focusing on Food Safety and Quality Assurance
·         Working knowledge of HACCP principles
·         Exposure to GFSI principles
·         Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
·         Strong organizational skills
·         Good interpersonal skills
