Antimicrobial specialist BioCote Ltd has become the first technology company of its kind to be officially recognised for its benefits within the food industry. BioCote has successfully completed the HACCP International certification process, a recognition that no other antimicrobial solution has been awarded.
This HACCP certification supports organisations that demonstrate food safety excellence in non-food products that are designed for, or commonly used in, the food industry.
BioCote has undertaken an independent assessment and verification process. By completing this process, companies can demonstrate that their products are fit for purpose, and if used correctly they will not compromise food safety protocols.
Only products that are certified by HACCP International can carry the HACCP mark.
The HACCP International mark is particularly aimed at those products that are required to be ‘food safe’ compliant, or HACCP approved in order to meet the food safety demands of their quality conscious customers.
BioCote additives can be used in food packaging and manufacturing processes to create a hygienic solution – a permanent protection against superbugs such as MRSA, E.Coli and other microorganisms.
Speaking of BioCote’s achievement, Commercial Director Graham Harvey said: “The benefits of antimicrobial technology within the food industry have long been recognised, but it is fantastic to have official backing from HACCP.”
