TECT-Utica is a leading supplier of finished airfoil components to the aerospace and power generation industries.
We are currently seeking a Tool Designer to join the growing team at ourUtica, NY facility!
Position Summary
The Tool Designer will create CAD models and design drawings for machining fixtures and inspection gages needed to support our operation. Our primary manufacturing processes include precision forging, multi-axis CNC milling and precision form grinding. We utilize Siemens-NX software (UNI-Graphics) for tooling design.
Accountability
Reports directly to Engineering Manager of Process Development
Duties and Responsibilities
- This is a project oriented position, although the designer provides support for his designs.
- Technical communication with outside tooling vendors may be required.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in design of manufacturing tooling for complex parts
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline required; Bachelors of Science in Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in casting, tooling, forging, aerospace or power generation preferred
- Must have good 3-D conceptualization skills
- Must be self-motivated to work independently most of the time
- Must also be able to work as part of a team and have initiative to take the lead when required
