Training Courses offered for Advanced HACCP, Internal Auditing

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology has announced that it has expanded its Food Safety and Quality Assurance Training Program to include training and certification for Advanced HACCP, Internal Auditing and Allergen Awareness. 
Upcoming training courses include:

Pre-HACCP Introduction to Food Safety:  March 20, 2012 ,  September 26, 2012
HACCP Manager Certification:  March 21- 22, 2012,  June 18 - 19, 2012, September 27-28, 2012
Advanced HACCP--Verification and Validation of Your HACCP System: October 30, 2012
Implementing SQF Systems: June 20-21, 2012, October 31- November 1, 2012
Principles of Internal Auditing:  June 22, 2012, November 2, 2012
Food Allergen Overview:  September 25, 2012

The training is offered through the University's Food Science & Technology Center (FS&TC). The Center provides food industry professionals with strategic development opportunities for career advancement; sensory evaluation and consumer insights research for product development; and focused consulting to solve problems and discover opportunities related to food processing and distribution. Additionally, the FS&TC is home to the Consumer Insights Research Laboratory, which is focused on student education and economic development of food companies within the region by providing consumer research support and academic programs.
The FS&TC is under the leadership of Alan McConnell who has over 20 years’ experience serving the food processing industry as a technical consultant, food safety instructor, laboratory director, and quality control manager. His specialties include: food chemistry and microbiology, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliance, sanitation, HACCP, and product and process troubleshooting and improvement.
