Quality Assurance HACCP Coordinator

POSITION TITLE: Quality Assurance HACCP Coordinator
LOCATION: Maple Leaf Farms Midwest Duck Operations
REPORTS TO: Corp. Quality Assurance Manager
POSITION DUTIES:
 Responsible for training new and existing employees in current and newly developed QA and governmental
inspection programs (i.e., HACCP, SSOP, Good Manufacturing Practices, Allergens, CCP, USDA regulations,
etc.), annually or as needed.
 Manage HACCP Team Meetings.
 Stay abreast of changes in regulations pertaining to HACCP using Internet and other available resources.
 Manage HACCP systems at multiple facilities
 Manage supporting documentation for HACCP systems
 Audit HACCP, Food Safety systems at multiple facilities to identify deviations in food safety system, following
HACCP guidelines.
 Conduct investigations to improve food safety, regulatory compliance and product quality
 Work with Marketing, Operations, and Labeling Administrator/Regulatory Compliance on label preparation
and approval.
 Work with Labeling Administrator/Regulatory Compliance to identify changes in ingredients on labeling that
could result in rework and/or recall. Assist Labeling Administrator with projects.
 Participate in process standardization and quality improvement projects.
 Performs other related work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Minimum of 3 years experience in the poultry or food industry.
 Experience with FSIS Food Safety Assessments.
 Knowledge of USDA guidelines, HACCP regulations, GMPs, SSOPs, OSHA guidelines.
 Strong HACCP and SSOP background, and HACCP Certified, Advanced HACCP training preferred.
 Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Continuous Process
Improvement (CPI) methodology.
 Demonstrated ability to evaluate and prioritize departmental needs, while supporting production process.
 Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and ability to effectively communicate with a
variety of individuals, situations, and resolve conflicts as needed.
 Ability to travel is required.
 Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
 Working knowledge of computers, including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
 Experience with program development, training and implementation.
